Overview
The Blood Donor Recruitment Section (BDRS) is a part of the Division of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine. It is involved in promoting voluntary blood donation as mandated, under RA 7719 otherwise known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994. In 2004 it was officially designated as an Apheresis center, by the Department of Health through the National Voluntary Blood Program.
The BDRS conducts mobile donation programs in various government and private agencies, schools and religious organizations.
