Apheresis
Apheresis is an automated method of separating blood into components. The desired component is removed then the rest of the blood is returned to the patient or donor. Some patients need to undergo apheresis procedures as part of their treatment.
The Blood Donor Recruitment Section has been performing different apheresis procedures for over 10 years. Through the Department of Health National Voluntary Blood Program we have been officially designated as an apheresis center since 2004. We are committed to improve the quality of our patients’ lives. We value our volunteer donors’ passion and commitment to helping others and most of all, we value our hard working and dedicated staff.
These are some of the apheresis procedures done in the section.
- Platelet apheresis
- Therapeutic Plasma Exchange
- Leucopheresis
